    1991 20HP Evinrude no acceleration

I wholeheartedly agree with Jimmbo. For simplicity sake, if you don't want to do the homework, stick with same prop as you have and most likely you will be ok.

    1991 20HP Evinrude no acceleration

Yes, I agree with Jimmbo. Here are a few pictures of a prop off a 25hp. 10 inch diameter by 13 pitch. Common pitches are 13, 15, 17 pretty sure yours is a 10inch dia. Without a tachometer it's hard to dial in a prop so do your homework.

    1991 20HP Evinrude no acceleration

Yes, you've spun the hub, take it to a prop shop or buy a new one. There is a chance that your engine is mounted too high and you are ventilating the prop. But I don't think so and if it ran fine a long time ago and it's definitely your prop. By the way when your prop slips and you're...

Check engine and solid warning signal

Head scratcher for sure....wish I could help. Probably not it but if nce on a diesel dump truck I had it stopped running. After messing with it (hours and hours on a city street) it turned out to be a drain petcock on the bottom of the filter water separator. Diesel engines can't have any air...

Check engine and solid warning signal

Sounds like its sucking in air from a fuel line or something. Should always be full after installing and purged. Good be bad or plugged pickup tube on the fuel tank. By the way, how did you read a code?

Throttle Cable Adjustment 2000 Johnson 90

It's a 2000. I forget if it's top or bottom but you can tell by moving the throttle at the control box and observing or if you move the warm up lever the throttle cable will be the only thing that moves. Rotate the plastic knobs so that it extends out longer.... assuming that really is the problem.

Johnson model J115FTLECS 115hp 2 stroke 2 cylinders not firing

Sometimes outboards can be tough. You have excellent compression so taking it into a professional mechanic, In my opinion, should be well worth it.

1996 Evin 15 hp 2 cy. Bogs down "ONLY" in the forward position.

Just so you know, the spark plug tester they are talking about is probably different than what you are using. They sell one that you can adjust how far it jumps to see if you have weak spark or not. Some bigger outboards need 1/2 some need 3/8 yada yada yada Hopefully once you get your parts...

So they went back to carbs before they went bottoms up or sold both engines for awhile? Also, what is your opinion on this guy's issues?

Racerone, you definitely know more than me so I relent. When I looked it up Ficht came about in 01 so wasn't sure. Do you know if his motor would go into a safe mode if the temp sensor came off?

Tilt Trim unit won't come out

I guess I don't know that outboard. 112? I see now on your parts breakdown. One thing that other did was open the relief valve. Did you do that? That will make it so you can lower the ram creating more room. I've done a couple and usually it salt damage but they don't wiggle.

I just read some more blogs....safe mode 2500 rpm's and less. Looks like you have a ficht motor so unsure. Many problems with that series. After replacing the sensor, if it doesn't run right, you may need a mechanic to read the emm with a computer.

Maybe. My Etec goes into safe mode I believe but the rpms do not go up and down. Not sure on your year but that might possibly be it. Hopefully because it's not attached, it thinks it's overheating and is putting it in a safe mode. Do you think maybe you somehow tore it off putting the cowling on?

Tilt Trim unit won't come out

I don't remember any bolts. Pin at the top of the ram and a pin at the bottom of the assembly. Here is a video. This guy says some of them won't come out without moving part of the tilt/bracket assembly. He does take out the reservoir to give him more clearance. Enjoy.

Pretty sure it's your temp sensor. Maybe your alarm isn't working and you overheated your motor or ...... Not sure. Should be two of them on each side of your heads

    F4 water issue

Has anyone ever or know how you might test a water pump draw tube (brass one) in an outboard motor? If it flops around in there is that an indication? Never seen them flop around in a Evinrude engine. Maybe in a Yamaha that is normal. Please respond if you know. Thanks.

Overheating Alarm at WOT 1992 Johnsons J140TLANS 140HP

Forgot to answer, yes readings will be lower. One other thing to add, assuming this is a vro outboard the alarm is for both water and oil pressure/low tank. I forget now if the tone is different.
