Can I use a 3 wire PTT motor to replace a 2 wire PTT motor and keep the relays?

if you understand relays, reversing contactors, etc you can make it work both systems need 2 relays, the 2-wire uses both contactor sets, the 3-wire uses 1 cotactor set.

bow navigation wire runs through the railing… where does it come into the main section?

since we make similar bow rails at work, I do not think it would go thru the stanchion because it is too difficult to make the wire do the 90 degree turn. We run all of ours back to the aft mounting pad / nut-penny thru a hollow stud. However can not comment on your 27 year old SeaRay as I...

    Needing a t top

the company that originally made the HSB tops in 2000 has been bought and sold (I think twice). I think your two choices are find a trashed boat with a top, and refurb the top (it will need new powder coat as the anodizing will have long corroded) or get one made.

best place to get reman 5.7 mercruiser

BTW, a 1996 boat run in Minnesota for 3 months a year should not need a rebuild unless something went away. You probably do not even have 1000 hours. What indicates it needs a rebuild?

best place to get reman 5.7 mercruiser

The heads alone give between 30-40 more HP than the 12-bolt non-vortec motors because the ports are higher allowing so much more airflow to the motor The roller cam can be more aggressive to give you a whole lot more power. However the cam installed in your motor is extremely mild Stepping...

The heads make it vortec. If you are going reman, I would go vortec heads, 4-barrel, and stroked crank. 320hp-330hp. With a decent cam, and a good intake, 380-420hp The flat tappet 2-barrel was 215 HP or so

I had a 1993 as well. The 88-93 were Brazilian made. Basically the old 1.8 VW 2-valve motor with the old Audi 4000 transmission in an old tooled Audi Fox body. Good daily in town, sucked on the highway if you had to pass as there was not much power Bought mine for $400 with a parts car...
