    Re: joe reeves timing ?? If you have the cam style linkage like below you are correct as no timing stop screw. This model you adjust with engine in gear ,plugs pulled ,throttle WOT, and crank with jumper. If adjustment is needed adjust the nurled thumb screw....

One is the bly/yel and that one is for shift interrupt and starboard cylinders (pin G on pack) and blk/org which kills port...

    White Sierra 3000 fuel line Recalled

    If anyone has the white ethanol approved 3000 fuel line remove it ASAP as it was recalled in February!!! It has the inner line and it will come apart in less than a day. just had buddy send 100ft back to Sierra.

    Re: Mercury Blue Band 80 hp You can flip the trigger wires also to test trigger, remember that #1 is at bottom of pack. Most likely it going to be the switchbox but test trigger as achris suggested. Below is switchbox testing but it wont tell you if SCR or internal rectifier is bad.

    Boston Whaler Fans?????

    Just acquired (2) 13ft (blue & white) Whalers with 40 hp Johnrudes late 60's early 70's. Wondering if should pursue to clean and fix or sell as is???? Trailers need tires and possible bunks, motors need full servicing, as not a lot of calls in my area for these.

    Re: Small plastic inline fuel filter acceptable for a TOP? They work fine and you want to install between fuel pump and carbs like the newer Inlines not tank and bulb. The wire mesh filter in pump will catch big debris in system. Do not use the glass one with replaceable filters.

The 2.0L 175 of the early years had a "D" shaped exhaust on the block and plate and the newer 2/0L are rectangular. Below is 175 gasket so you can see difference and wiring harnesses are different also.
