    The 90's model will already be set up for E10 fuels, the eighties models should have fuel hoses changed over, but in reality, they should have been changed years back because fuel lines are only good for about ten years. So if the hoses were changed at that interval they would/ should be E10...

    I would never use a fiberglass fuel tank on anything, fiberglass is way to unstable when in contact with other chemicals. Plastic would be a far safer choice in my opinion...

    If the motor has not run in a while, you may have some stuck rings, try flushing cylinders with ring free and see if it helps/ hurts your compression numbers..

    Just a guess here, but probably thicker due to the splice to create the loop being stronger near the boat connection.

    I always used carriage bolts with the round head then nuts and washers on the bottom. Carpet keeps the heads away from your hull, had way to many lag bolts pull out or fall out but never lost a carriage bolt in my 50 plus years of towing.

    If the engine is running, then adjust until it runs its best. If motor is not staying running, they typically start about 1 1/2 - 2 turns out as a starting point

If we were to get a chilly night before time for winter storage, then the old conventional There is a minium voltage that must be maintained or the battery will die. Not sure what the lifepo4 requires...

    Before getting in to deep on electrical issues, do a deep dive into the transom and stringers !! At that age you have a 98% probability that all the wood interior structure is rotted out, making the boat unsafe. For your own safety, please check it out carefully !!

    Water is not a dusty dirty atmosphere and the cover is designed to trap any real dust particles and let them settle. On racing engines where there is no cover, they do add filters/ spark arrestors.

    I think I have the same motor but badged as a Mercury. Sounds like fuel flow issue from the tank. Probably in the fuel shut off valve. Disconnect from carb and see how good the fuel flow is!!! While you have it apart, cleanout the fuel tank, replace the hoses, mabey even flush out the carb...

    Do you have acess to a computor to check it out ?? These high tech motors are all electrical controlled and can be hard to figure out without the tools required. ECU is a high probability but only testing can say for sure.
