    methacrylate...... glorified superglue. its the adhesives used to bond nearly everything together in the marine world. such as plexus, sika bond, etc. pull the gauge panel, work on the bench.

    Swapping motors and chassis is all easy. Just bolts and fabrication. The fact that an LS motor is shorter than the SBC makes it easy. Not sure how in this day and age anyone can charge that amount, however people have lost the ability to do their own wrenching

    southbay and the other forest river brands buy their gauge panel from the same source that feeds most of the pontoon market. start by calling their customer service line. beyond that, it should be a simple repair with a methacrylate of your choice.

    there are shops down here that do nothing but convert cars to LS. you supply the car, the LS motor, and parts, and for $19K in labor, they will convert your ride. based on what I know, that comes out to $500 per hour.

    I said piston seals (internal) not gland seals (external) the blind end is bypassing the cylinder to the rod end. this could be the piston to rod seal, or this could be the piston to barrel seal. plastic/rubber cylinder seals last about 20 years and then they need replacing.

    I would pull the boat out of the water and do all the annual maintenance (check alignment, gear oil change, bellow inspection, gimbal bearing inspection, u-joint inspection)

    only critical thing on the flywheel is the diameter/ring gear. there are two diameter flywheels. a 14" with 168 teeth on the ring gear and a 12" with 153 teeth on the flywheel

    Agree with the by braille comment. most things on a boat are hidden if you think your coil is bad...... it most likely is not the coil
