    coils probably ok just clean the points with a business card and carb cleaner for now 24/1 oil won't hurt it change impeller and change gearcase oil look .....for water in the gearcase oil if ok (none) just refill with gearcase oil clean or replace plugs try it out...

    what ohms resistance do you measure on your coil secondaries at the boot end of the spark wires use the proper scale (above the expected reading) ex: 10,000 ohms scale if using an analog (needle) meter (digital meters will self adjust)

    I am not to worried about the charge amps. the amp load & voltage to run the starter is the critical one for 3 reasons . a- voltage drop on a long run due the a " to small" cable per/foot resistance b- amp requirement for the starter c- amp rating of the cable itself...

    pulling the PH isn't as bad as it sounds ... been there just follow the video carefull with the top of the drive shaft when removing the PH (small parts (carbon) o-ring etc,,. carbon seal is very brittle...
