    Fuel cannot leak from that shaft when motor is running.----Normal to leak from throttle shaft right after motor is stopped.

    Does primer ball go hard ?----Post the compression numbers here.----And does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on both leads.----Sounds like it might be running on just 1 cylinder.

    The crosshatching remains well after there has been some wear.------If this motor is still using the " autoblend " mixer unit then remove it and throw it away.-----Run with a 50 :1 mix or 45:1 if it is working hard.--Such as tubing / waterskiing.

    I did not know that a new battery had been installed and motor cranks over fast.----Missed that in post #1 I think.----And if flywheel does not spin fast there will be no spark.----I need to stop trying to help on some of these posts that leave out critical info !!!!

    Simple fact for you.-----When piston is at the bottom of the stroke the intake ports are open.----The exhaust ports are open.----Some of the fresh fuel / oil goes right through the motor !!

    That leakage may be normal for a 2 stroke.----Was there any water in the oil when you drained it ?----Pressure test can be done to see if there are any leaks.----Lots of videos on the tube on lower unit seal kit installation.
