    You will likely find broken piston rings.----A most common failure.-----Everyone of these V-4 blocks will suffer this failure!!

    Actually a simple job to replace the impeller.----Just nuts and bolts.------And the motor does not have an overheat alarm or a shutdown system.,-----It would run till it came to a dynamic halt.

    Step #1 is to remove the recoil.---Then inspection plate on top of flywheel.-----Coils will be cracked or new ones installed already.----------Yes the carburetor will likely need cleaning.----And install a new water pump impeller before your next fishing adventure.

    Sorry----But the lower crankshaft seal has nothing to do with compression in the cylinders.-----You are aware that this motor has 6 separate / sealed crankcases.

    Your motor may be running on just 1 cylinder.----So some testing needs to be done and facts can be posted.----Other than that you can just keep guessing.---Sorry

    That manual shows pictures of a 4 HP model.-----The factory manual would not confuse or mislead you !

    The water from the tell tale DOES NOT circulate through the block.----There may be internal blockage in water jackets.-----Tabs on head gaskets are on outside on both heads?----Pictures ?

    Step #1 is a compression test after numerous overheating incidents.-----A rule to follow is a new impeller on a new purchase.
