    Stock is 1.5:1. Not sure where you get your info. However 1.6 on exhaust and 1.5 on intake was common to bump midrange torque slightly without hindering top end.

    With points, 95% of the time, a quick file, set dwell and then timing is all that is needed. Especially in spring after the points sit for 6 months and they oxide over. Most points will last 15-20 years in a boat or longer

    tap the pump with the handle of a screw driver. could be something stuck. or the pump is bad. FYI, they are carter pumps that Mercruiser used.
