    dont leave it all the way up. as soon as you hit the top limit, tap the down button. you are fighting a load-holding check valve. is your fluid low? additionally, if your fluid is dirty, you could have a sticking check valve.

    guys, per post #1, it was an 898 drive. they were listed as 1.5:1 for the V8's or 1.65:1 with the inline 6 this is the MC1 / MR / A1 ratios not until the A1 Gen 2 in 1991 did the drive change to 1.47:1 or 1.62:1

    all the livewell plumbing is under the deck tub. time to pull out everything you can pull out. most livewell plumbing is plastic and needs to be replaced every 10 years or so. same goes with plastic thru-hull fittings as racerone stated, get that motor running within a few hours.

    you will not need the AQ to SX conversion. you simply need to unbolt the OMC, bolt in the mercruiser.
