    first thing to rot is the transom second thing to rot is the stringers last thing to rot is the floor. to verify, tilt the motor up, get on the AV plate with a buddy and jump up and down. a good transom will not flex.

    sounds like your carb has an issue with the idle circuit being plugged and someone turned up the idle to compensate for it. you are no longer running on the idle circuit, however the main jets the holley 2300 carb on the motor most likely needs a tear down and cleaning and to be re-assembled...

    yes. stamped oil pans have a tendency to distort the pan rails where the bolts are. typical fix is to straighten them at any service.

    no reason you cant reuse the pan or windage tray. you can bang the windage tray back into shape. just make sure the crank clears it. it is for windage control within the oil pan, or you run the risk of frothing the oil as you bang thru waves. a block of wood and a hammer is all you should...
