What condition is the transom in ?-----How about stringers under the floor ?------Engine repairs are easy in comparison.-----An inline 6 should not be hard to find.
Did the carburetor cleaning on one of those a few weeks ago.-----Slow speed needle was about 5 turns out.-----Motor started on the first pull.-----Then adjusted for proper idle after that ( 1 turn ? out )
These jets boats were marketed for about 4 years.----As is typical everybody that wanted or had one got tired of them.-----Production numbers dropped after those first years.-----Many of the Turbo Jets suffered broken rings.----Might have to do with the nature of operation of jet...
It is not the grease you put in the fittings !!-----There is a post on here almost every week asking about this sludge.----Very normal for a 2 stroke engine running in a barrel.-----Pressure test your gearcase to look for leaks if there are any.
A compression test checks piston , ring , cylinder and head gasket condition.-----A compression test in the cylinder has noting to do with crankcase compression , reed valves and crankcase gaskets.
Well----I removed an engine from one of these a few years ago.----Broken piston rings !-----You guessed it , the adapter has to come out with engine on it.
The air above the river / lake has more water in it than air above your driveway 10 miles from the lake.-----So if boat is kept at a dock ( more condensation in the tank ) you need a good water separating filter.
These motors are not hard to start if in good condition.----Perhaps post compression test numbers too.----If the safety lanyard is not installed correctly there will be no spark.-----Owners manual may be in your future.-----If this is your first boat perhaps have a shop or friend coach you on...
??------The control box is the thingy with the throttle lever up by the steering wheel.----Or is this a tiller motor ?----If it is a tiller motor it should have a kill switch lanyard on the steering handle.
It is not a ground for the solenoid !----What is your motor doing or not doing.----I am well aware that 12 volts , simple circuits and wires can be really confusing to some.----So tell us what is happening !
Little steps to take ---Understand that 12 volts from the battery has nothing to do with the spark.----Spark is made with a " fast spinning " flywheel.
