    I think the water intake on the 15hp and below is behind the prop. not sure you can use muffs. normally a large garbage barrel. water must be at least 8-10" above the split in the case.

    you bought a tow boat (surf) with the proper drive (FWD) so when you wipe out you dont become chum..... they do draft much more than a traditional drive the literature doesnt help much...

    You should look at reman'd power heads first. Local place here has them about $1600 with new cranks, new pistons, etc
