Agreed----I helped with a project on a 25' sailboat.----This boat design had known porous fiberglass and keel / hull joint issues.-----Ripped out the factory junk and improved the structure with ribs , fiberglass and West System epoxy.----Has not leaked or shown any cracks after nearly 10 years...
Friend of mine ran a marina.---Started renting ( made a lot of money ) out boats.----Many cottages could be rented but use of the boat was not included.-----Simply because experience cottagers know that rookies make mistakes !!---Or if you do not own the boat you might not be as careful.
The pulse limiter is a flow fuse for the VRO pump.-----Closes when too much air flows through it.---Clean it with some solvent.------If motor is running too rich I doubt it is a fuel pump issue.----Look for issues with floats an float valves.
Checked float bowls for warpage.--Check valves in the air motor housing in good shape ?--Checked the pulse limiter ?----Does fuel primer bulb go hard ?
Too late now but GPS technology and charts are available for most lakes.------Cheaper than outdrives / props.-----But this new is better stainless idea is all about marketing and consumer demand.------They do not build simple affordable stuff anymore.

Well I used to ski behind a 17' boat V- hull.-----A 1966 model 100 HP Johnson.-----It could pull 2 people up on slalom skis from deep water.----So yes , a 115 HP Mercury can pull a skier.----Motor has to be in good condition.
Anodes on drives are a sacrificial material.----Research ---NOBILITY -----of metals.-----The anode get eaten away by small electric currents and saves your expensive drive parts.
Any product made with aluminum housings and held together with stainless screws will suffer in salt water.---Just a fact in dealing with salt water.-----The 400 HP outboards are now very popular.----Many of those will also suffer if not maintained / flushed on a regular basis.
CDI electronics makes a much better trigger.-----But I have a hard time believing you have 5 out of 6 triggers bad under one roof.----Initial setting might be 5 turns for a 200 HP model.----What elevation are you running at ?
I do not believe the trim / tilt unit can bend that part to damage it.------It has a pressure limiter valve.------Find the real problem.-----Post a picture ( close up ) to show the clearance with trim / tilt full up.
