    1990 2 stroke Evinrude or 2003 2 stroke Yamaha, both are 70 HP

    Im a huge evinrude weenie,lol.That being said if both motors are the same condition i would go with the yamaha just because its 10 plus years newer.The vro has lasted 21 years so far so i would not worry too much if you decided on the rude.Heres something to consider in the parts availability...

    E-TEC looking to change prop pitch

    That motor should be 4500-5500 rpms.With the throttle at max id shoot for 5400 rpm.On my 60hp etec i run at max at 6000 .The rev limiter kicks in at 6250.I run an older omc stainless repitched to 16p which runs my 1976 starcraft ss 160 to 33 mph.Load it to the max and you still hit 33 mph!

    XD100 oil

    Best protection for your motor but not the most cost effective.Its a superior synthetic oil designed for etec motors like mine.My 2011 60hp uses so little oil i can justify the price easily.

    Any 2017+ Nissan Titan owners?

    spark plug gapping

    I find champions easy to find in Canada.OMC has recommended champions forever!Even my etec uses iridium champions .A spark plug is a spark plug cant be further from the truth especially when it comes to omc.If you due lots of trolling .040 is a better gap.

    2010 Evinrude etc 60HP won’t stay running

    As stated above the ecm should throw a code.Want to know if the fuel system is operating correctly just close the vent on your tank assuming its a portable and watch for awhile.It will collapse a 12 gallon tank like a diesel sub at 2000 ft.Yours truly found that out lol.Mines a 2011 60...
