Force 125 engine starts and runs fine, but cuts out occasionally

What year force/ chrysler motor is it? When was it serviced last? You probably need to beg, borrow or otherwise acquire a OEM service manual as it sounds like you have multiple issues. Turning the motor off and on again dosen't work on older motors.

Head with no holding tank, is this illegal?

Think of it as adding other tasty nutrients to the ocean/sea critters normal diet. You'll sleep better. And a flushing toilet is much, much more civilized than having a bog in a bucket and then chucking the large chunky bits over the side.

1978 70 hp Johnson throttle problem

4.00 am here. Couldn't sleep...had a cuppa. Yep, it is the flappers at the front of the carbs. Moving the linkages does nothing to those. Roll pins on the otherside move as they should. Flaps only move if you push them with fingers etc Choke ( electric and manual ) works. Weird. I've found a...

Starting and maybe restoring old Mercury 402 40hp

Personally I'd take racerone's advice. I think he knows a thing or two about outboard motors. Not sure how much experience you have though.
