When thermo is closed, no (or very little) water exits exhaust housing. Also, running on muffs doesn’t test waterpump function. Test in barrel or lake, and when head temp warms to 140ish, thermo opens and water exits powerhead.. most of that water exits with exhaust through prop, and some gets...
If one cylinder comes and goes, it shouldn’t be the reeds. It could be one of the kill circuit wires randomly connecting to ground under the flywheel. Also could be a coil failing. And as stated, could be spark plugs. I use NGK B7HS spark plugs in those points motors @.030”
Good luck!
You could try replacing the driveshaft seal, and not seating it all the way, so sealing surface is above the groove.. this has worked for me in the past. Do a quick pressure test before filling.
If really bad, find one at salvage...
I always jump starter motor directly with good jumper cables as a first step. No-go = bad starter. If she cranks normally.. wiring/battery issue.
If you get full voltage at starter in start mode, safety switch is not the issue. I would still perform the jumper cable test with known/good...
One of the small terminals on solenoid gets 12v when switch is in start position. Other small terminal must be grounded to block for solenoid to operate. That ground may go through a neutral safety switch (follow wire..on opposite side of powerhead). That switch may be faulty/out of...
