    Another Free Boat Project

Yeah the ball gears on the outdrive make it stiff to turn over because they partially bind. ( this is why you don’t start it like that ) If you want to donate it to a non profit needing that much work, just give them $6k and call it a day. That’s the minimum amount you’ll be into it. $6k can...

    Suzuki oil change warning question

Oil pressure and oil life are not the same. I have heard of Suzuki outboards having oil pressure switch issues

    New old boat checklist.

Both deck and transom are solid and checked out or I would not have bought it. Pretty well kept boat. When I went to look at it, I was looking for reasons not to buy it but couldn’t find anything.

    New old boat checklist.

It looks like it takes a low shank walking foot, so I should be able to get one

    New old boat checklist.

It’s an alpha gen 1 being 1989. And the machine is a Euro Pro 1262D. It’s designed for denim and light fabrics. I found some old online things that suggests it’ll work and it was $50. Wife wouldn’t go for something better.

    New old boat checklist.

Since I have this new to me boat I know I have a few things to do to bring it up to my standard. When the guy test ran it for me, the little 9.9 Yamaha ( which turns out to be a 2002 ) wasn’t peeing like it should so I had him shut it down and he knocked off quite a bit without a second thought...

Is this 2k worth of trailer?

March or April of 2021 I can’t remember I bought my Venture VB1300 for my 14’ StarCraft and it was under $900. Difference though was that trailer was one year old leftover that was in the way so he heavily discounted it

Old school Luhr Jensen trolling speed indicator.

My dad rode with me to go get my new boat, and my dad has trolled for years although he didn’t go out last year due to time and other projects. We talked fishing of course. I haven’t gone out on his boat in a couple years and I’ve never actually had my own boat that was really capable, but now I...

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I dug around and couldn’t find it. Looks like that bolt by the starter is where it should be. I’ve got some cleaning and tidying to do

    R.I.P Chuck Norris

Walker is part of my childhood. I’ve probably seen every episode just as I have MASH. But I watched Mash because I wanted to, I watched Walker because it was on.. still a pretty decent show. I never liked any of his movies. Remember Walker and the gym equipment infomercials.

    1990 vs 1996 9.9hp 4 stroke cylinder head/ gasket interchange?

if the bolt holes are the same, gaskets line up and everything and everything is in the same spots than functionally identical. The only things that are going to possibly be different are exhaust and intake might possibly be different, but you have both and valve sizes/ combustion chamber...

Value of my unit?? Mercury Marine Sport Jet Pump

I’m going to venture a guess that there are more good pumps than there are good power heads

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

Actually last GM transmission to have a dipstick was the 6L80E and not all of them have one. However it’s not hard to check and fill usually

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

The Hurricane engines that Ram uses now have an oil level sensor, just for example. GM doesn’t have anything so far

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

I was still searching Facebook marketplace and a 1989 Smokercraft 21’ cuddy popped up. I knew Sylvan and StarCraft both were part of Smokercraft in that time. I had to do a double take on it as it is the exact same boat as the Sylvan Offshore 21’. Unlike the StarCraft Islander that has a few...

    Affordable fuel injection intriguing

Yeah I knew the DDIS was fully NLA and expecting to eventually need to replace the system but from the reading I’ve done on it, the cam sensor isn’t usually the issue. As it turns out though a sniper can’t do individual coils. Need to be terminator X stealth 4150 kit which is $$$$$$ and overkill

    Affordable fuel injection intriguing

my gears are turning again. New boat has 3.0 with DDIS ignition. Magic part being the cam sensor. Would be cool to run individual coils

    Getting impatient

I would simply bring a plate with me except the trailer has a PA state issue vin tag on it
