    Attention Maine-iacs

I have always been interested in lobster boats from Maine. I have also been wanting to take a train to Maine someday. The two may come together this summer. Has anybody ever been to the lobsterboat races? I'm looking at either July 2nd at Jonesport or July 9th at Searsport.

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. I put the ride off till Tuesday. I'll take some photos and maybe a video. I'm sure the young man will want to drive. I have this scratch on the brightwork that I would like to touch up. We have no idea what was used before to seal it. What...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. The new couch was installed yesterday. Not as nice as I expected, but still better than it was. I had to do some framework on it before the upholstery was installed. .

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. We had a good trip back to the marina, Fireman. My mate has her 14yr old son here for the hollidays and I'll get some shots of him piloting this big thing. He tells his friends he has his "own" captain. He makes me proud. Here is a photo of him at...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. Yeh guys, thats the way I found it. The manifold appeared to be tie wrapped to the stringer at one time. I'm in the process of rerouting the lines with no low spots and securing the manifold. While working on it I created a new problem, water leak...

New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. The intake hose to the A/C strainer was clogged and needed replaced. Whoever routed the A/C lined from the manifold was misinformed. I'm going to have to redo it. All hoses should have no loops to create a low spot in them to prevent air lock...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. Hi tswiczko. I did take a photo of the strainer after pulling the filter strainer from it. After speaking with some of the guys around here, I have determined the first thing I'm going to do is fire up the engines and run her in gear at the...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. The engines were painted a couple years ago and it appears no prep work was done. Paint is falling off of them. The transmissions are almost bare rusted metal. What really concerns me was the oil was changed a couple times since he painted them...

    show us your fish

Re: show us your fish My friend Joe's first sailfish. He doesn't get to catch much because he is always captain or the mate of his own boat. My lady Kimi took over as captain and I played mate. We took him to one of our favorite spots and we landed his first. Maybe someday I'll get to catch...

Re: St. Augustine in May/June?!? Re: St. Augustine in May/June?!? Thanks, fireman. I second that to nlain. Glad you were out having a good day, Fireman. I had some friends down from Michigan and the weather was just about perfect for them. Low 80's and partly cloudy. I didn't burn the...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. Off the subject...but while working on the FB I thought I would show my playground. This is looking north into a lagoon full of seatrout, redfish, and snook. This is looking south across the ICW. Note the Tiki Hut? That's where us boaters hang out...

    Alternator? What Do I Have?

Re: Alternator? What Do I Have? I came across a manual for this old Chrysler motor. Here is a wiring diagram. It looks like the power to the field on the alternator comes from the key switch to the volt meter, thru a circuit breaker, then thru an oil pressure switch. Since the problem is self...

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad. I noticed a slight smell of diesel fuel in the master stateroom. I found the aft fuel tanks under the bunk. There was a leak in a sending unit. All fixed now.....I'm not sure how to clean this area, I can't get to it. In the past I have used...
