    Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada Here's a pic of the buoy marker marking the end of your journey if heading up the Canyon. Rapids are right around the corner. It's 50 - 60 miles from Pierce Ferry. Never GPS'd it, but I know it's at least 50, and closer to 60 I think.

    Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada Found a couple of pics of Columbine Falls. This one was taken way back when you could take your boat right up to (and even under!) the falls This was taken a year or 2 later. A flash flood washed sand and rock down from the canyon and it piled up...

    We had some major winds last night in So CA reaching up to 140 mph! Downed trees, lost roofs..Pasadena, CA declared a state of emergency..More expected tonight. I got lucky and had no damage but the neighborhood sure got a dose. We only lost power for about 6 hours...Nine 60 year BIG old...
