    I had zero issues in 20 years of having our DDIS 3.0, boat was 5 years old when we got it, so 25 years trouble free. I never even changed the plug wires. I would run it until something breaks which If I recall correctly is normally the module or coil pack.

    in addition to what Scott said - get a factory manual step by set this is all outlined. Also this is a good place to use OEM parts. I used sierra sender when I did mine and it never worked right.

    off your drive serial number and look in the manual it usually says XXXX serial and up use this method or similar some detail on it and shows the two designs that are visually different. not sure if I have the serial number cutoffs in my manual or not will look tonight

    I would think your 4.3 pan given the engine vintage is likely the ribbed cast aluminum one. While it could corrode, less likely than painted steel ones. If it is painted steel easy to refinish while its out and you can coat it with bed liner for long lasting finish.

    that should be plenty wide just has to cover where the seal rides. How much is the sleeve vs a new yoke? If you dont have it get a factory manual for your drive has step by step how to do all repairs and any special tools needed. Usually can find the tools used on ebay for half price.

    that is the sensible thing to do. a few years back toyota was doing 3% or so for certified used. Basically used it as a cash flow spreader 1-2 years. in northern climates no sense making payments on something you can only use 3-4 months a year.

    The ignition module on a EST is in the distributor. Est is often used for points replacement or to replace NLA merc thunderbolt systems when the module dies.
