I was filling the trim pump resevoir on my boat I just got and the oil was milky white and thin ( full of water). Is there any way other than water in bilge that can cause this issue? The cap on the resevoir doesn't look like it is sealed so if it were submerged I'm sure it would allow water in...
My alpha 1 gen II drive does not have a trim tab. I thought maybe it was missing but on the back of the selco manual it has a picture of one with no tab. I am guessing that this is ok unless it pulls left under power ?
I just moved into a 2001 Q7 with 5.0l Mercruiser. My boat has an 18 gallon tank which seems small. What kind of fuel usage should I expect just on average cruise.
I have a 4 cylinder 470 merc and the tach is reading low. I looked at the back and it has four settings 1-2-3-4. It is currently set on 3. Does anyone know the correct setting? I guess if not I will try each one next time out.
I just got this boat and the tach works but reads low. It reads 3000 rpm at wot and should be around 4500. The motor is turning faster than it says for sure. What setting should it be set on to read correctly. My engine is a mercruiser 470 I-4 170hp.
