    fishfinder transducer

Re: fishfinder transducer No! It needs a full view left and Right. Mount it in the Hull and Side Scan will be gone. I needs to be below the hull and able to see under the keel. If it looks across the back of the Transom the image to that side will be extremely noisy.

Sunken Cape Craft, Bringing back to life...

Re: Sunken Cape Craft, Bringing back to life... I believe you will find that the bilge pump circuit will not work as planned. The manual Switch will operate the pump as expected. But when the float switch activates, the relay is going to close and bypass the LED and the Relay itself. This...

    Transom Mount Transducer

Re: Transom Mount Transducer Most Transom mount Transducers also include the comments that they can be "Through" Hull Mounted by the marketing department. Just a guess; First consider that the Original, Factory, Through Hull Mount, was done before the engine was installed, and removing the old...

Re: power supply for garmin chart plotter But, Where-Oh-Where, do you get Grease that Conducts Electricity? No-OX-ID Grease may be marketed for Electrical Conductors, and their marketing department mistakingly calls it "Electrically Conductive", But the MSDS clearly shows it is a mix of...

    Oil change venting...just venting

Re: Oil change venting...just venting As you stated, it depends on the engine. On my 4.3L Merc, the dipstick is in a tube that runs to where the oil drain plug in the bottom of the pan would have been if this were still an auto engine. So what ever oil I can get out of the dip stick tube...

What's the best "high speed" transducer?

Re: What's the best "high speed" transducer? I have a Hummingbird 798ciSI side scan unit that must be transom mounted because of the Side Scan Transducer. It reports Depth just fine at WOT at near 55 mph. I hope you are not expecting to find fish or see bottom detail at 40 mph. Not going to...

    Smart Tab question ...

Re: Smart Tab question ... All Smart Tab SX's are the same physical size. The Actuators are what is different. The actuators are small Gas Springs like what holds up the the rear hatch of an SUV. The 40# is adjustable from 36 to 48. (That would be 40# per Tab for a total of 80# lift.) The 60#...

Fuel Gauge Issues (Both gauge and sender have been replaced)

Re: Fuel Gauge Issues (Both gauge and sender have been replaced) I don't understand what putting it in the water does??? What does the resistance of the two wires on the sender measure. It should measure between ~240 Ohms Empty and ~33 Ohms Full. Are you sure the tank is truly full and it is...

    Battery maint question

Re: Battery maint question You can avoid any confusion by not having any Black Cables on the battery. (Black = 120vAC Hot.) Wrap the last 3 inches of the POS Cables with RED electrical tape. And the NEG Cables with YELLOW Tape. There will no longer be any question as to what cable goes where!

    Battery seems to shut off

Re: Battery seems to shut off An intermittent connection inside the battery can be more than just a nuisance. If the intermittent is below the acid level is is a nuisance. If it is above the wet area, the potential for a spark is created. The bubbles that you see when charging a battery are...
