Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

Do I have to worry about damaging the eye by putting too much pressure on it?

Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

LOL I know. I went from being a good trailer guy to THAT GUY! I"m still practicing, trying on off days when no one is around so I'm not clogging stuff up. The bunk slides look plastic, they don't scratch the boat? Is there a type/brand you can recommend?

Not sure. It's a Four Winn's factory trailer.

1989 Sunbird SPL 150, standing water in ski storage compartment

Well, yes. But.... I'm not the most experienced guy; but it does seem that the boating industry lagged behind the auto industry in terms of build quality and design for some time in the hulls and internals. The wiring on some of the older boats that I worked on looked like it was the stereo...

Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

I don't have anything like that. I'll look online and see what I can do. Thank you! Is it safer for the boat to have taller PVC types that hit the rub rails or longer bunk types that will hit the side of the boat? Worried about maybe a cross wave slamming it into the side bunks and cracking the...

1989 Sunbird SPL 150, standing water in ski storage compartment

You might want to have someone ( a surveyor?) just check it out to make sure everything is safe on that hull. I'm not sure what happens to a boat with bad stringers in rough waves but I'm sure nothing good. If it's safe but has alot of not super risky rot, well then just enjoy it for what it...

4.3 liter Mercruiser cool down period

So, inboards are new to me. For my outboard I'd let it idle and/or cruise around for a bit after hard running; I.E. going from tubing to hanging out at the beach. I am trying to do the same for the 4.3. I did notice, however, a couple hours after pulling the boat the engine compartment was still...

Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

Correct, sorry for the duplication. I had more specific questions in this though, particularly about the spray for the bunks, so I thought it warranted a new post. I'm happy to delete if you want.

Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

Is a bunk slider something like this? will it damage the fiberglass on the boat? The ones I have looked at look like they are plastic.

    Getting leaf stains off fiberglass.

So, the boat had some leaf litter caught between the hatch that covers the swim ladder. I got them out and cleaned it with 303 multi purpose cleaner but the stains remain. What is a safe thing to use on fiberglass to get rid of it?

    Towable recommendation

When my kids complain about a tube, or the fact that they don't like the handles, I explain to them that I learned to tube off of a 14' Larson using old truck tubes we got from the local truck shop. They were so much fun, we'd get off the lake with scratches along our abdomen from that damned...

    Towable recommendation

We've used alot of different towables over the years. My kids seem to settle on the triangle shapes with holes in them. They felt the chariots were 'too boring' and want more room than a single conventional tube. We just ordered a 3 person flat tube so we'll see how that goes. In the past they...

Can't get boat even on bunked trailer.

So, as previously stated, my previous boat was a 16' Sylvan on a roller trailer. I put the back 1/3 of the trailer in the water and winched up; no problem. Boat always centered. New boat is a 19' H190 on a bunked trailer. At the landing if I put in till the fenders are under, the aft end of...

Questions in towing my 2016 H190

I see the V shape; but it didn't come with a ratchet strap. That's been rectified. :) I probably over ratchet strapped but that's just me. After the first couple I got it back up on the trailer correctly and it seems much better.

Is this old Sylvan a good deal?

Looks decent to me. I don’t know about engines but the hulls are damned near indestructible and everything inside that Rita is easily replaced

    Boat trailer lights partially working

So… I hate trailer wiring. I’m terrible at it. But I have a jam: The “traffic lights” on my trailer (break, turn signal) work fine. The running lights don’t work at all. It is a 2016 four winns trailer with a new five flat adapter to my round seven pin Outlet on my jeep commander Other...

Questions in towing my 2016 H190

The boat is 2900lbs; is there a rule of thumb for the amount of weight the chain has to hold? also, should the winch strap be very tight?

Questions in towing my 2016 H190

I went to get gas and the thing was bouncing on the trailer like crazy. It just has the front winch strap and the back straps. The bow also isn’t touching the front roller. I’m paranoid of wrecking my new boat. Is the bouncing normal? does this look like it’s on far enough?

Could you put a larger image on there?

    Has anyone installed trailer guides?

I'm thinking of doing it; just wondering how much they help. I was hoping for increased visibility but some of the ones I'm looking at say that you can use them to guide the boat on the trailer. That sounds nice but I'm wondering if it also scratches the hell out of the rub rails as the PVC...
