Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy)

Re: Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy) I ordered Volvo Penta OEM parts...so they had the correct style of hose clamp. The old clamp is a standard SS hose clamp with the threads stamped into the band. The OEM has the threads pressed into (not through). Here's the housing for the drive...

Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy)

Re: Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy) Pull out trim sender and push up or down out of your way. Inside the trim switch is the 1/2" hex bolt. (Starboard and Port both need removed and seem to have a thread locker/anti-seize on them?) Next is the stainless steel ground strap (to...

Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy)

Re: Replacing Bellows on a SX drive (pic heavy) Next, loosen shift linkage bolt (7/16" wrench). The recess in the brass housing is where the housing attaches to the pivot housing. It doesn't need to be completely removed, just loosened enough to remove. Old exhaust bellows. Trim sender...

Boat was purchased from my boss and her husband for $500.00. The new motor...

So, while I was power washing out the CC a few weeks back I destroyed the Bilge vent hosing (Lower portion). I need to replace; however, iBoats only sells 50'...I need about 6'...I was thinking, since it's PVC based tubing I was gonna fashion a bilge vent out of 3" PVC piping instead? What are...

1996 Volvo Penta 5.0 cooling system question

Re: 1996 Volvo Penta 5.0 cooling system question I have the same year Chris Craft and and same motor...albeit only one!!! So if it's fuel injected it more than likely a 5.0Fi if it's carbureted it's most likely a 5.0FL (both are FORD Based motors). Those are weird years as the motors are...

    Posted Speeds on Boats

A good buddy of mine just ordered a 2014 Interceptor 24SST. While I have no doubts it's a nice enough boat, what concerns me is the posted speeds Mercruiser is putting on there website. The Boat my buddy ordered (his is all yellow though): Specs: 24'5" Beam 8'4" Engine: 5.7L 300HP Drive...

    Chris Craft, input wanted?

Re: Chris Craft, input wanted? The engine only has 283hours on it...I've ordered a short block and will use the heads as they stand...a less frugal person might spend the time to have the heads rebuilt...I'm not one of them. Mind you this is after speaking with the engine re-builder and his...
