    thanks, i'll try that distance. I did my own compression test and the top cylinder only has 110 psi, the other two have 140. think i'm just chasing my tail trying to get her to run right...

    The last shop to work on it replaced the power pack($471.99) and the timing base sensor($334.99). Did a compression test 118, 125, 124. The last owner said it still ran like it was flooding out, the carbs look wet and there is fuel in front of the air box.

    What is the minimum and maximum psi an outboard should operate at? At idle my gauge shows 2. Cruising around 10. Wide open no higher than 15.

    A buddy inherited a boat with a 1989 40hp Evinrude E40TELCEC with lift assist. The lift is ceased with the motor partway up. Is there a release to drop it or can it be removed and used without one?

    Yamaha 130hp won't start ... spark plugs dry

    1993 Yamaha 130hp 2-stroke 130TLRR. Ran fine in the morning, then wouldn't start in the evening. Has spark. The plugs are dry...even after choking her while turning her over. could it be the fuel pump? will an outboard still fire/run even with a bad fuel pump? if not only for a few seconds?

    I purchased a Yamaha service manual for my 1993 130TLRR and on page 2-6 in the Maintenance Service section there is a chart showing carburetor specs. On the pilot screw turns out line for the 130, it shows 7/8 +_ 1/4. Does this really mean only 7/8ths of a turn out, plus or minus a quarter turn...
