    if the number is 01 its a 2001 if it was a 1991 it would be 91. I have 2 of these engines and the one from my 1988 boat has an 88 on the block and the one from my 94 boat has a 93 on the block

    Can't post link to mercury parts look up but if you go to 90-94 3.0 it's under fuel pump

    If you look under fuel pump and carburetor the electric choke is listed for the 90-94 3.0

    My first thought was to do this but my machine shop is 3 weeks out to get to it so I figured a $50 head gasket and if the problem is still there then my season is over so I'll just pull the engine and start getting ready for the 4.3... Maybe I dumb way to go about it but I'm really only trying...

    The 2 cylinders with water in them are the farthest from the elbows it's the 2 front cylinders and the elbow is in the back Also if it was the manifold or exust why is compression escaping from the thermostat housing And yes the kit was a barr kit with the metal looking gasket

    Replacing shift cable. What are these parts for?

    The orange Thing is a tool that holds the end of the shift cable when reinstalling the drive its great use it. The metal wire is safety wire that holds the set screw on the shift slide in place. The plastic washer goes on the shift shaft Picture attached
