    I wouldn't bother grounding the lights to the trailer frame. I would just run the grounds through the ground wire at the plug. Mixing lights are fine. Just keep in mind that the LED might be brighter.

    I would break out the jack, even a cheap bottle jack would suffice. It's really hard to tell for sure looking at the angle of the photo, but... Run a straight edge from under the hole for the safety pin back behind the cross frame where you have the pin sitting. The longer the straight edge...

    How about trying this... Loosen the cable a bit to give it slack. Try lifting the trailer by hand or even a jack. Just don't force the jack when trying to lift the trailer. Look for anything that might be catching or binding. If the jack or by hand can easily line up the holes then you know it...

    Occasionally around here some outboards pop up on FB. The small HP one's list for a few hundred dollars. Once they hit the 9.9 HP they're over a thousand dollars. From a 50 HP and up they're thousands. Yes I'm talking about OLD 2 strokes. Most actually sell in a week or two.

    First let me say that grounding the trailers electrical system is an old and poor way of doing so. Running actual ground wires is a better and safer way to do it. Think of losing the ground contact through the ball (rusty) while driving at night. Guess what happens to all your trailer lights...

    I keep my winter stored flooded lead acid batteries hooked up during the winter off season on maintainers. The starting batteries don't like to get fully drained to often. My motorcycle battery is 6+ years old and still doing fine.
