Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older) 89 Bayliner Trophy! I think I must have the only one left, because you never see any on here. She Actually looks even better now with the reworked bow rails and new decals, but I don't have any current pictures. I plan on getting a few shots to...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman That idea sounds promising, I noticed a piece on the TACO site that looked like it would work if you added angle to it, Looks like it would do the same job on a glasser with 3/4 plywood edge. would mean extra rivets , but it wouldn't take many just being trim?

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman I do, it would be great if someone recognized it and was able to pass on a link. Anyway, here's a few pictures of the trim/molding. The slots and holes in the under tab (don't know what else to call it) in the last picture were not originally in the molding...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman I'm going to cut a piece of aluminum and stitch it back in with an under strip and rivets. I also plan to put the curve back in at the dash ends like it came from the factory (wish me luck on that) :joyous: Like this one.

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman Okay, more work on the chopped dash (slow @ the shop the last couple days) I scabbed some heavy aluminum to the rear of the dash and riveted the two original pieces back on the ends. Even though you won't much be able to see the repair once the bow cover is...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman Now that it's right side up, it's time to work on reversing the chop job on the enclosed bow. If you remember, someone at some point cut the enclosure and shortened it, They actually did a decent job, but I want it back where it belongs. The dash was shortened and...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman Okay She's back on the trailer, Finally!! The bottom is all painted and slick slick slick, very happy with the results. I took a little time and freshened up the trailer before loading. The trailer was already in decent shape with new tires and wheels, so I won't...

Hey All, Anybody know where I can buy the inside trim for the gunwale? It's basically a flat piece of aluminum with a small bead like lip on top that is riveted in place.

    Mercury prop.

Hey Guys, I have this prop that came with my boat along with another spare. I'm not sure about this type of plastic insert that has no splines to mate with the output shaft. Can anyone give me some info. on this type of setup? Here are a few pictures. The motor is a 2001 Mercury 150...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman Been busy, been sick, been doing everything else but working on my little boat, tis the life of a 45 year old :D, BUT I was able to do a little work this week. I've put it back on the trailer and finished completely stripping the sides that I plan to polish. I...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman Okay, I'm not sure I'm going to do much more to the bottom, at least not with stripper. Maybe try pressure washing to see if it will take off the bits of paint on the keels and in those tight cracks and then a light sanding to even things out from the stripping...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman I got excited with my progress and flipped the boat to start on the bottom before I took pictures of the almost completely stripped topside, so I'll have to post those when I flip it back over. Of course that will be after I finish the bottom and paint it. Here it...

    1952 Duracraft Sportsman

Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman A couple of months ago I decided to start stripping the paint. As I mentioned earlier, there are multiple layers. I thought about blasting, but to have someone do this that really knows their stuff (you have to be really careful with aluminum) would wind up being...
