    Can't keep engine running...

    I just bought a boat with a 91 Merc 50 ELPTO. The day I bought it, it ran like a champ (of course). Now it runs more like a chimp. It takes a fair bit of effort to get her to start. It's not uncommon to kill the battery trying. Now, I can't seem to keep it running. Once I get it started...

    Can someone tell me the alternator output of the 91 Merc 50 ELPTO?

    I just bought an 85 VIP tri hull, my first boat. I'm trying to line out the electrical system, specifically the battery/charging system. I'm curious if anyone knows what the alternator output is for this model? I don't know the exact model number. I do know from the title it is a 91 model...
