Bringing back to life a Chrysler 9.9

That makes sense. A bayonet outlet, that explains the translucent motor cover. You answered all my questions thanks!

Bringing back to life a Chrysler 9.9

I picked up a 60's era chrysler 9.9 for $50 bucks. Good compression, I think I can get it running with some elbow grease. At this point I am trying to figure out the electric starter. Photos below will show a ground wire going from a button on the very top of the starter. This ground wire...

    Chrysler 9.9 flywheel removal

Absolutely, you can put me in that camp for prior pulling fails. I have a mtd mower that is 40 years old, still runs like a champ, had to pull the gas tank, removing the wheel hub from the axle was a B. I built a homemade puller out of angle iron, backed the hub bolt out about an inch and used...

    Chrysler 9.9 flywheel removal

No coils or wires melted. There was no beating, prying or heating of the actual flywheel. I heated the drive shaft which protrudes about 3 inches above the flywheel, heated it for about 40 seconds and heated it from the farthest point from the flywheel. I handled the flywheel within seconds...

    Chrysler 9.9 flywheel removal

I hit it with more heat at lunch time, kept it on there longer than the last couple times i tried it and it finally popped off. Am I correct that the flywheel is toast? The top has some hairline cracks but they do not come through on the underside: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4NDG3WVgXbjfBfUL7...

    Chrysler 9.9 flywheel removal

I can't for the life of my get this flywheel off, I have used pb blaster for two days, used heat, the motor is currently hanging by the fly wheel. Wacked the bolt hundreds of times and it isn't budging. Wedged a piece of wood under the flywheel and did that working around the fly wheel...nada...

Using warped plywood for bench seats

Okay, after reading some other posts i think a 2x6 might be a little overkill but it definitely needs some re-enforcement. I would like to use thicker plywood but the edges can't be more than 1/2" or they won't slide into the aluminum rails that holds the bench up. I think I will cut some...

Using warped plywood for bench seats

Last question, should I add a 2x6 under the plywood to reinforce it or will the fiberglass provide enough rigidity? At some point I plan on mounting a swivel seat.

Using warped plywood for bench seats

Yeah, I think I'll just buy some new plywood instead. Don't want to waste a bunch of fiberglass.

Using warped plywood for bench seats

I have a sea king that needs the bench seats replaced. I have some plywood that the prior owner cut to exact size but never got around to finishing them. The plywood has kind of twisted so that it doesn't lay even close to being flat. I can manipulate it by hand to slide into the front and...

Replacing 1986 Bayliner penta 275 bellows and water hose connector

I have removed my outdrive to replace the bellows and replace the control cable. I noticed the hose connector https://www.amazon.com/Sierra-International-18-2777-Thermostat-Housing/dp/B0000AYZDS was corroded and I will be replacing that as well I am curious if I need to use any type of sealant...

    Tax time!

Oklahoma. They do have a method to file your personal income taxes on their website but nothing for a corporation.

    Tax time!

Yeah, technically I could still do my federal corp taxes the old way. The issue is my state only accepts electronic filing, no snail mail. This means I have to go through an expensive third party (turbo tax or a competitor) who will only allow me to file my state taxes as an add-on to doing my...

    Tax time!

Yeah, it wouldn't be a bad deal if it weren't for the fact that I know the forms that need to be filled out. I used to be able to do this with a few hours of my time, an envelope, a stamp and a trip to the PO to register the envelope.. Oh well, times change i guess! Thanks for the Turbo Tax...

    Tax time!

Hey guys, i did my own s-corp/personal taxes for years then i got super busy with business and handed it to a tax man. Going to start filing it on my own going forward as I now have plenty of time. My problem is my state no longer allows me to mail in my corporate income taxes so I am looking...

    14 Foot Jon Boat Identification

I think you are right on it being an aerocraft? Where is the original tag on yours? I would expect to see two small rivet holes where it used to be if it had one, can't find any small rivet holes.
