    It’s 14 feet of jacket and adding the 30 inches brings me to 16.5 feet which is labelled on it. My steering wheel moves perfect without the flat gear attached. Am I okay to go ahead and buy a teleflex cable that has the same flat gear that mounts to the steering wheel? My only concern is the nut...

    Perfect thanks for your help. Is the nut that holds the steering cable to the back bracket of the picture I posted above usually the same size? Could I just order a teleflex rotary system and buy a new rotary steering wheel? As long as the nut is the same size it should theoretically work no?

    Ya as far as the shift cables go the two brown wires weren’t connected to my ignition coil so I’m going to try that out. As far as the steering goes the cable is black and it’s 16.5 feet. The helm is straight. I took apart the cable at the back and unseized it but it’s still very tough to turn...

    Okay ya maybe I’ll buy a new one. We had a bunch of old ones and the one we put in fixed the problem in the driveway and the boat ran great till I got it on the water under load.

    Okay thanks for your help. I took off the old carb and got this new one because of all the other issues including the distributor but now that it is in good shape maybe I’ll go back to the old carb with automatic choke.

    Now I don’t know too much about this stuff. If the carb is giving too much fuel if I put smaller jets in would that work? Also would would it cause it to operate poorly after running good for a 5 minute run.

    Okay now what would cause excessive fuel? Maybe just the new carburator I bought off Amazon is junk?
