    I cleaned them they all looked good. Plug wires look good no rot or burning, the ends look clean no burned.

    It was running good, then just acted like it was loosing spark just cutting off then pick up and go then it did same thing and died. Wouldn't start, just crank over. I did the cdi test on the switchbox and got spark, not sure how strong of a spark but it sparked. Then I tested spark to plugs and...

    Could the solenoid be bad? I did the test and got spark at the coil but no spark at the spark plugs.

    I did, a couple of times and got different results. It is hit or miss with the boat starting as well it will start one day and then won't start the next.

    When it was running at idle it was smooth no misses it was when under load it started to jerk and stall, if I throttled down it would run smooth again.

    I had a mechanic tell me the switchbox was on its way out and would need to be replaced soon.

    I took the coil wire off the distributor and had no spark to the distributor so I think the trigger is ok. Or hoping it is.

    It was replaced before I bought it and was working up to the time the motor quit, I think maybe sucked up mud when trying to start the boat, we drifted up to the shore. Like I said I'm new to this and trying to figure it all out.

    I'm finding that out, I have spent more money fixing the motor than I did on the boat. The mechanic that rebuilt the carburetors said the switch box was falling apart and would need to be replaced

    So if I'm not getting any spark I should change the switch box first correct?? All other wires look to be in good condition may have been replaced by previous owner.
