    Boats from work.

That's something I've never got to do. The boss and supervisor have done small spots with modeling clay to keep the pattern, but it's not something I know how to do. It sounds like Scott would be your guy for this one. My options would be to either spray gel with a webbing additive, spray gel...

    Boats from work.

I've been lazy about posting here. This week has been a 2024 Tige ATX. The worst were those cracks around the vents and that chip on the step. There were also a few things to sand and buff. I got the three spots painted Friday, just didn't take any pictures after it was cleared. That...

    1981 Springbok 18' Restoration/Renovation

Assuming the wood will be wrapped before fastening in place, out of those options I would use screws from the back. Another option, machine screws with finish washers from the front, nuts and washers in the back. Stronger connection and they wont come loose as the wood swells/shrinks or...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

Usually they are just screwed down with some #14 (I think) stainless screws. Aluminum boats put a piece of aluminum on the bottom of the wood so the screws are less likely to pull out when the wood eventually rots. Not a terrible screw up, just fill with pb and redrill. I bought one of those...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

They likely have it, but the issue is the sun fade and oxidation over the past 30 years.

16ft Lowe Jumbo Transom Replacement Help Needed

You're going to have to cut the corners and transom cap off. Lift the transom straight up, well more like lift the pieces out. I think this is actually a good candidate for a coosa replacement. I don't usually recommend it because of the cost, but since it's the only piece of wood I think it's...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

Depends how much time and money you want to put into it. Best way would be grind, glass, bodywork, and spray. 2nd is to just use filler. 3rd option would be to thicken the gel and use that as the filler. You very likely won't get a good match on the gel.

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Crank it reeeeaaallll tight? Usually that only happens once, then when I rechuck the bit it stays. I think sometimes the hex bits don't tighten down on the flats, so they slip and come loose. I can't explain why the smooth shank bits do it too.

95 Sea Ray 230 Sundancer stringer repair

Yep, I've done many of those, as well as the bigger ones and one Skeeter that was a big plate going up the transom and 1ft or so along the stronger.

Are you talking about the motor mount brackets that bolt to the stringer? I've replaced had to replace several of those stringers.

Dude, those look great. You want bad welds? Here's what I did to my rocker panel, one of my first times welding, and I forgot to turn on the gas for most of it.

95 Sea Ray 230 Sundancer stringer repair

I've gone all day all suited up with no break. Haven't passed out yet, and inly once during the whole kitchen rebuild! 👍 Gmach, honestly both sides are kind of right. It definitely should all be replaced, but it's amazing the structural rot I've seen at work and they still hold together.

95 Sea Ray 230 Sundancer stringer repair

Yeah, that's right about at the bottom edge of the transom. Since you'll have to cut the bottom half off anyway, just do the whole thing. By the time you cut the transom in half, it's not really any more work to just take the whole thing out.

Drill some test holes in easy access areas to look for more rot first.
