    100% gear oil it has that very distinct smell of lower unit oil. Rebuilt rear ends using the same type of oil for 10 years Very very distinct smell and texture.

    Well I may be on hold for getting it back on the water. Found lower gear oil in the garage floor. Looks like I’m dropping the lower and replacing the seals. Oil still looks good when I check at the fill and drain. going to go ahead and replace the impeller and seals while I’m in there.

    The pump is an OMC pump but not factory original as this was initially an oil injected fuel pump. I try to use oem whenever possible

    Just took her back out and still acting up. It’s dropping about 1,000 rpm’s and about 10 mph. If I turn it off and let it rest a bit it’ll be in great again. I’ve checked coils and timing looks good. Could this be a prop bushing?

    Yup just replaced the fuel line connector and there was a noticeable difference in how much pressure was needed to put it on. Relocating the transducer to the r opposite side of the motor and going to test that tonight.

    Scratch that I did the warmup and let it idle for 5 minutes then pulled the plugs and tested each cylinder at WOT and compression came back at 110-112-110 on the cylinders.

    So after testing my compression I have 90, 92, 90 on my cylinders. I’m not sure how accurate my gauge is but that’s where I’m at and they are all holding compression good. Also I may not have done the compression check properly. I can’t find anywhere that shows the specs for my particular motor.
