    1/8 mnpt 5/16 90 deg elbow is what I used. Will have to drill and tap. Use some sort of sealant for fuel resistant "teflon" type tape to seal threads good.

    Happened to me. Break off the plastic/melt it off. It's presses on to a knurled fitting. Drill and tap to install 90 degree brass fitting. Make sure you get a good seal. I used teflon tape.. I'll try to find what size I had to use.

    I highly doubt it but I'm not 100% sure. The motor was in very good condition with no aftermarket parts. It ran great until it overheated on me. I seen no evidence of it being torn into before.

    That kind of crossed my mind. When I replaced the stator the aftermarket part "replaced" stators for T&T and non T&T stators but why wouldn't they do that for the regulators/rectifiers and why would the 87-89 be separate if T&T mattered?

    That hole is not your issue. It's missing on mine as well and as much as I've been working on it over the last year or so I don't ever remember anything being in there. Plus you can see it's painted.

    I did new rings on mine with used pistons and don't have any problems of piston slap. Some will scoff at this and I'm not "recommending" it, but my budget is what guides my decisions. Unfortunately that may not be enough for a "proper" rebuild.

    You might try asking the folks at https://www.smalloutboards.com/. I've never dealt with them but they ship and have gotten motors from Canada too.
