    Slip Bobbers

Yes the line does go through the middle. The bobbers with the spring on them are when you are fishing in shallow water. Because the spring sets the height you really only use them to about 3 maybe 4 feet deep at the deepest since you have to cast a bobber 3-4 feet of slack line then your bait...

    Slip Bobbers

Any time good sir! Just FYI as well I like the slip bobbers that have a coating of paint or plastic they tend to be a bit more durable and last longer. Also, if you don't have a fish finder you can use a weight tied to your line to find the depth and a lot of times you can find fish a foot or...

    Slip Bobbers

By the way most slip bobbers come with a handful of bobber stops but they do wear out faster then bobbers and once they are used they are can't be put on again so it is a good idea to buy more. I like the thread ones like the link below. They are easy to put on your line, easy to move, but hold...

    Slip Bobbers

They are all pretty much the same from a general concept. You put a stopper on at the select depth, slide a bobber on, add some weight, and bait/lure. That being said the shape and size of them matter because it affects how hard they are to pull under. If you are fishing with a heavy jig head I...

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

Inside of the fender is a small bunk. Not sure if that is what you typically see on a shore lander trailer. This is my first boat so pretty naive when it comes to boats and trailers.

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

It has been raining and hailing here like crazy so there was a bit of a delay getting some photos but here it is. You can see the Mirro logo but the HIN comes back to something different.

    1972 18 FT Starcraft SS

I am doing my first boat restoration and I have been kicking around the idea of coating inside and out. I am going to strip the floor and set it in the water to see what my leaks look like then go from there.

    1972 18 FT Starcraft SS

Did you coat the inside of the hull with coat-it or the outside? I was thinking about doing both. I have a few small leaks and I figure that might help with fixing the issue as well as stopping future issues.

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

That interesting. I didn't know mirro was ever renamed or changed hands to a different company. I kind of wonder if this boat was an old mirrocraft that was redone at some point. It is weird that is labeled mirro when the HIN comes back to something different. I was struggling to find much...

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

Well it is v hull shaped and it says Mirro on it but when I run the serial it says it is a McCready Railway boat which from my understanding was a custom boat builder

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

Thanks for the the help everyone. Sounds like a rebucking or rivet replacement is in order. I will probably do the sealant like gluvit as well. This is gonna be my fishing boat and it would be nice if it didn't leak.

Looking for advice on fixing rivets on an 1983 aluminum boat

Hey everyone, new to this forum and looking for some advice. I recently bought my first boat a 1983 aluminum boat. I am trying to get it ready for use (it hasn't been in the water since 2013) and I have noticed that some of the rivets leak and I am also a little concerned some of the seams leak...

    1956 Feathercraft Vagabond II

Wow that is a lot of work you have put into that bad boy. Looking great so far too. Just curious do you find welding to be the best bet for patching holes in aluminum? I have some leaking rivets in an aluminum boat I bought and I am trying to figure out the best permanent solution.
