    The motor is bogging down, so you need to see if timing is in spec. do you know what a timing light is?

    I have never worked on a Suzuki, so no help on wires. but see if you can find a service manual with wiring diagrams for your motor. trace the wire from ignition switch to the start relay. find out where you get 12+ to and where it stops

    if you can hear the relay operating when you hit each switch, then you are left with a bad battery cable or just a connection on either end of the + or - cable

    If someone turned it into a longer shaft, they had to install the spacer and replace the drive shaft. I myself never heard of a 2 piece drive shaft

    most boats have a boat side filter and the one on the outboard, just do not install a small micron filter in the boat side. get rid of the big stuff and water with the one in boat and let the motors filters handle the rest

    yes it is a water separator, and should stay in place even if you put another on in the boat

    I thought they are designed to keep up with the needs of a vehicle and motor to keep the battery from being drained while running not charge it from dead. if it is dead there is a good chance the battery is bad to start out with. heck even in automotive they say not to jump off a dead battery...

    best thing to do is keep the batteries charged up do not expect a dead battery to be charged up from the outboard itself it will do its best to try ,but that can over task it
