Prop shaft broken at Cotter pin hole

I'm hoping to do a job on the water to knock season out of it. Hopefully similar will work with some serious thread glue..

Prop shaft broken at Cotter pin hole

A locknut alone would be sufficient?

Prop shaft broken at Cotter pin hole

I was changing the prop on my 2004 Suzuki df90 and the prop shaft split when I went to insert the cotter pin. The end broke off up to middle of cotter pin hole. I could get the nut back on but not overly confident of the prop staying put. Anyone have some idea other than threadlock glue to keep...

2004 Johnson - 2 clean and 2 black spark plugs

I have a fuel injected 90hp Bombardier Johnson(Suzuki df90). I put new plugs in and have only been running with rabbit ears to set new cables up. Had issues idling and checked plugs today. The top 2 are black while bottom are like new. What could be the cause? Cheers

Lots of slop in control cables

Hi. Have a 2004 90hp Johnson Bombardier 4 Stroke. I installed new throttle cables but seeing lots of slop. The old cables were doing similar. I triple measured using the common formula and the new ones are actually shorter so no added loops. The control box can be seen in attached pic. There's...

    Tilt up button completely lifeless

Hi. I have a 90hp Johnson 4 stroke. After a lot of fun I've removed and replaced various parts of the tilt/trim unit. I went to fit it back in and noticed up and down wasn't working on the outboard switch. I saw a wire had come off the switch and got it to work by touching the wire back where...

Removing tilt and trim unit from 2004 johnson 90hp

Thanks. To clarify - I have attached two pics. I presumed I could leave the engine completely attached and remove the tilt unit. I don't fully understand what actually holds the bottom together. I have seen some diagrams where the bottom is a pin with bolts either side but that doesn't seem to...

Removing tilt and trim unit from 2004 johnson 90hp

Hi. I managed to get the top pin out but struggling to get whatever is holding the bottom of the unit. From research, it seems to be a pin in the bottom also, but I've not moved it a mm by hammering. Is it just a pin that needs more brute force or is there something I'm missing? Cheers

Trying to identify Bombardier Johnson model

Just meant in terms of parts. Availability and price seem to favour the DF so it will make my life a easier if they are in fact built 99% the same. The few parts I have ordered all seem to fit a DF90 and doing some research - folk seem to be of the opinion they are 99% similar.

Trying to identify Bombardier Johnson model

Trying to identify Bombardier Johnson model

There seems to be 2 2004 models - BJ90PL4SRC and BJ90PX4SRC. Anyone have an idea what the letters after 90 represent? I'm guessing L and X are long vs extra long?
