    changing lower unit length

    on a 1961 mercury 400 can you go from a long to a short shaft lower unit with out to much trouble. And where might you look for the parts to do this. Jeff

    engine controls

    I am building a 14ft Glen L marine Zip boat .It will handle a 40hp outboard. I want to put a Mercury 1960s on it. What I want to do is to put the sterring wheel on the port side and controls too. Can you get left hand controls for a mercury outboard 40 hp. Thanks Jeff
