Stupid mistake: Can it be fixed?

This is a Rinker captiva 212. I am in Ohio and we had some rain. It was covered with the factory canvas cover. We had a lot of rain in the past 2 months. I did try to pump the oil out and the pumt only pumped about half a quart. I think the waterer consistancy of the oil makes pumping it difficult.

I was storing my older boat outside in the trailer for about 2 months. I went to get into it today and i realized i had not removed the plug and i had turned the batteries off. The water in the engine compartment was just above the bottom of the alternator. i looked at the oil and it is milky...

I think so. Now I just need to get the correct tools to take the outdrive off. I had everything I needed for my old MerCruiser now it's time for new tools. I was thinking about 3D printing something to go inside of that fitting so that perhaps it would stay connected. If I could print it so that...

I believe that it is part #8 that is broken. Does anyone have any idea what I need to remove to get to it? I can't find much on the interwebs about it.

You were on the right track. The hose connecting the water intake to the outdrive is off. I think it may be broken. Do I need to take the outdrive off to get to this or is there another way?

Hi Muc. Thank you for you help. I checked the flush cap and the washer looks to be in good shape. It was also well beyond hand tight. I took off the thermostat housing and gave it a good cleaning. I used some rust remover and cleaned any rust out. I also used a wire brush. I paid special...

I do not have a switchable exhaust. My transducer is located below the engine in the bildge. I did not spend much time to clean the thermostat housing and I did not check the bypass. I will check that hopefully tomorrow. I did look at flush cap for suction. It seems to be tight.

Looking at the engine, I don't see anywhere that excess water gets out. The only water line connected to the elbow comes from the exhaust thermostats.

I just realized that I put the 140 degree thermostat in the engine. I should have gotten the 160. That explains why the boat runs a little cooler.

First of all let me say "Thank You for your help"! You are very generous to be spending this time to try and help me. Now on to the engine. I have replaced the motor thermostat as well. After replacing it the engine ran a little cooler. It did not overheat as easy when pulling. I also took off...

The boat is open cooled. I changed out both exhaust thermostats a few months ago. The old ones were pretty beat up. They were causing the limp mode overheating when i first purchased the boat. The boat couldn't run for more that a few minutes at above idol with those. Now i only have problems...

Those error codes were from April when I purshased the boat. The batteries were shot and I have since put new batteries in. I am not sure if that would have caused some of those codes. I am getting ready to take it to Kentucky lake for 12 days with my family and I am hoping we will not run into...
