Rant: Can't catch a break with weekend weather...

As I get ready for work (48 hours so far this week) I read the forecast for today... 71 and 10-20 mph wind... I could be on a boat or OT... where did I go wrong?

    Perpetual Debt

I have a stand alone "in case of emergency break glass" bank account that I throw a few bucks into a week. I have the Roth IRA and pension on the other. Cash is for eating out and fun things but the primary purchases, fuel, op costs, vehicle purchases (within reason) are done on cards or...

I guess my cutoff and shorts isn't adequate PPE is it.

Maybe old double stick to hold the rbu rail in place while originally mounting?

Rant: Can't catch a break with weekend weather...

It's okay. I opted for some OT at work and of course the days I would normally be off are beautiful. Why make boat dollars when they can't be spent. That being said, 40s with sun is fine boating weather for me. The girl would however disagree with that statement.

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

In my defense, I never said it was safe. I also trust my bow eye, strap and winch stand a little too much when slamming the brakes in reverse to get it to slide back that far. I prefer cradles. But the blocks are always there and handy. I agree they could easily fracture doing it how it...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

Don't mind the extra blocks as they were for when the hull was gutted. On the outside Chines is usually enough. I do it this way to paint the bottom.

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

I block boats by sliding them to the teeter point on the trailer then block the rear up and use a rope or something to keep the stern from sliding tied off to a tree or car. Then you drive the trailer out a little and put a jack under the hull after the last cross support of the trailer and lift...

    Oil 4 stroke Mercury 115hp

It probably won't go very far left at wide open... fuel tank would let you run 30 minutes max or so. That being said, the old merc 2.5s lasted surprisingly long being able to turn 10000 rpms or so (modified). Usually cooling was their downfall if memory serves. 75% of peak power/rpm anything...

    MS Office alternative

The free online version of excel, word and outlook on one drive does like 90% of what I need I've found. Anything beyond that and I should be on the clock. (At work)

    Oil 4 stroke Mercury 115hp

I'm in the "theres a spec and testing for that specs endorsement for a reason" camp. I've messed around and tested various oils in other applications and in most cases the manufacturer specs are the best for intended use. Straying outside that sometimes you had to get creative but we would get...

    Too Much Prop Issue?

a 19' boat with a 23" prop sounds like it is in the ballpark... As others have said, start checking everything. Also... make sure the choke (if it has it) isn't sticking shut... Ask me how I know.

Graphite works well as well. Allegedly coarse threads are less prone to it.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

The best one I used was a dead end road that someone sawzalled the barrier off of. Outside of having to climb the hump back on to pavement, it's actually nice being dirt and all. :ROFLMAO:

18ft Boat Launch with RWD Suburban

Meanwhile half the roads flood from the bay you need to drive down on a regular basis.... yeah the salt air coast vehicles are some of the worst exposure you'll see and some are truly gnarly. Anyway, it's rare the rear axle touches water much less gets submerged. If I have to do that chances...

    cooking

Well she returned the favor for my birthday. (I have no photos as I was a wee bit drunk) but she somehow managed to cater (she did say she wouldn't be able to top me by cooking) chinese from my favorite spot in. It was absolutely fantastic. I've been home and able to relax maybe 2 days in the...

New SEI drive, need a new prop.

Adding to that, the math isn't 100% but that shouldn't be that big of a difference... I'd first confirm the tach accuracy and move from there. If yor 4200 now is really 4400, I'd leave well enough alone. (I'd leave it if it were 4200 as long as it performs well and that was under normal...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Yeah I had a wee bit of brain fart on that one. :p I too usually only see resin as amber/blue green or purple. The red is new lol. Looking closer I wonder if it was just a tinted layer of VE to visually cue in the mold it had a barrier coat of sorts or an adhesion promoter seeing as it's only...
