    4.3 crankshaft/housing oil leak - next steps?

Daily drivers have a life expectancy of 3-4 years and are anticipated to be sold off. Usually dead by year 8-10 Plastic lasts 12-15 years under the hood of a car Plastic has no place near an engine. It doesn't survive, and you can't recycle it

    4.3 crankshaft/housing oil leak - next steps?

There used to be a company making Billet timing covers for the 4.3. however I can no longer find them post covid.

was thinking of changing over to a Delco EST system from points....

You wouldnt feel it, because the advance kicks in sooner than a mechanical advance. for example, on the 3.0 4-banger, you set timing at -2 with the shunt. however at idle, you will see the unit at about 10 degrees BTDC.

Lou, ask yourself if the juice is worth the squeeze? how many sets of points will you go thru in the next 20 years? maybe 2? so $30 for two sets of point, $2 for a points file, and $568 left in the pocket

One fuel line to two engines

you would think so, however it doesnt. also, a primer bulb on I/O's is not allowed. the OP has two outboards. so it could work. the cheesy flap check in the primer bulbs work for a while to prevent issues, however can fail, especially if the main motor is an I/O and a 3-way marine fuel...

One fuel line to two engines

nothing its been discussed before. you actually end up drawing air in from the carb in the kicker and you basically run out of fuel on your main. if you have a below deck fuel tank, there most likely is another location you can plumb in a pickup tube.

2025 Splash of the Year Nominations!

My guess is that during Covid, we saw a significant bump in splashes, then inflation went nuts and peoples income didnt follow. in the past 3-4 years, the cost of living is well over 25% higher . I know my salary has not increased to follow suit.
