I mentioned check balls/springs at the t fitting, meaning upper t stat housing. Of which a hose routes to the riser in a lot of mercruiser cooling systems
Was guessing towards commonly seen cooling systems in my world based on your first post. My bad for assuming however given your limited info...
800 rpm is out of spec for idle speed. The flame arrestor cover info indicates idle speed in neutral us (looks like) 650 rpm. Would guess idle speed screw is misadjusted.
Concerning your cooling issue I'd first suspect a blockage of cooling water either before or after the suspect manifold. Has...
190 vs 150 psi is a notable difference. Which cylinders were lower number psi?
If there's no change in idle speed/runability with adjusting the idle air mixture then either the idle speed set screw is out of adjustment or the idle air mix circuit in the carb base is clogged/faulty adjustment...
If that's your only issue your best option is to find a new mechanic. Any decent mechanic ought to have access to the proper oem specs regarding what they are working on
The only questions your mechanic should be asking you are ones related to a complaint/concern regarding an issue you have...
Hopefully the mechanic that performed the long block r and r saved the serial number tag(s). In your case it's the best piece of info for folks here to determine what the factory setup was/is.
Pictures are the next best thing for ID/best route for troubleshooting issues.
Speaking of which...
Depends on serial number/vintage and if your setup is oem/factory or has been altered
If you post a s/n and some pics that'll help greatly to providing information
If you have access to sierra brand parts they sell a flexible fuel line with the proper end fittings that is acceptable to use between the fuel pump and carburetor
Sierra sells, or at least used to, a flexible pressure rated fuel line with proper end connections for mechanical fuel pumps.
Hose clamps are not acceptable for the pressure side of the fuel pump, only the vacuum side
R/MR/Alpha One is #6. Gen II is #14. If an older MC-1 drive would be #1, 2, or 3 depending on model/serial number
Bravo is #11, 28, 39 or the latest aptly named Bravo Sterndrive manual
Quite sure you can get a helicoil kit for 1/4-18 NPS. Google ought to guide you properly
If you go the other suggested route drill size for 1/4-18 NPS is 7/16"
Lol, seems to me this is exactly what you are doing
Napa supplies seirra parts. You can buy/order the correct components from them and only have to purchase them once.
FYI, save the fuel line connection from the old fuel pump. You will need it to connect the proper fuel line between the pump...
OP already has a thread regarding this (among other) issue(s)?
Regardless, agree with dodge and would add a vacuum test on the fuel supply could reveal a restriction prior to the fuel pump
Only if there is an air gap
Personally, I use a jumper wire clipped to a solid block ground with the other end clipped to the coil wire tang that connects to the distributor. Never had an issue this way
Being an efi engine the alarm could be for any number of issues, low oil pressure included along with afore mentioned coolant temperature and gear lube monitor level.
The only way to know for sure the cause of the alarm is to use a diagnostic tool that can read fault codes. It's possible the...
Remove the belt and take it to your local auto parts store, they ought to be able to match it
Your fuel pump setup is a recipe for disaster. You need pressure rated fuel line and connections between the pump and carburetor along with some type of automatic safety switch that will eliminate...
