    Looks like in the video around the 0:14 mark the water is leaking from above the trim lines. Thus would indicate a leaking exhaust system. Perhaps the o-ring for the exhaust tube/gimbal housing seal? Or the exhaust tube corroded through? Could also be something above the exhaust.

    When you split the drive did you remove the drive from the bellhousing and split, or leave the upper attached and just drop the gear case? Asking because the shutter/flapper could be stuck in the exhaust bellows or the exhaust passage between the bell housing and upper portion of the drive

    You have a short to positive somewhere between the switch and the slave solenoid. You need to isolate every section of the yel/red wire between the two. Start on one end and work your way to the other. The starting troubleshooting guide in the stickies will help you immensely

    No. The yel/red wire comes from the key switch then goes to the neutral safety switch in the remote (on sterndrive applications). The kill switch/man overboard/lanyard switch is in line with the purple (igniton) wire

    Possible the coil is the culprit for a sputtering engine. Not highly likely though. There are many other parts that fail long before a coil causes issues

    If it wasn't attached to anything on the other end then no worries, probably a remnant of what I could only guess was an isolater. By the looks of the ring terminal it appears 1/4" and would have been on the output terminal/stud. If they are/were attached trace the wire and you'll find the system.

    Google search came back as digital output circuit high or shorted. If the engine is equipped with the hvs igniton (flat GM distributor cap) the only thing I can think is the sensor in the distributor is having an issue? Check the harness connection to it, if it's good try running the engine...

    No idea what the ohms spec is but based on the vintage and is a 4.3 if everything is stock mercruiser for the ignition system it's most likely a thunderbolt. Only one style coil available for that system Out of curiosity why is the coil being replaced?

    It's possible someone ran an isolater at one time and it's now abated. Could have been part of that system. Were they on the output stud? If you can, post a pic with the leads as you found them

    Remove the hoses and dig them out with a pick tool. Might need a flashlight and mirror. Or just remove the cooler and clean on a bench. If you do find pieces/debris in the cooler it's a good idea to backflush the hoses leading to it

    Go to your local mercury/mercruiser dealer, they will have the correct one. Its a quicksilver brand product, comes in a black, blue and gray box with instructions and additional wiring to connect to older style igniton modules
