    I don't think it's overheating but you should check it. Sounds like it never runs fast good. You idle out and when you go to punch it on comes the problems. Could be an electrical component that only fails after heating up or like race says bad wire under the plate.

    No slow mode or safe mode on that motor. Shoot the top of the head with a infrared gun and see your reading. Check plugs like Jimmbo says but I think Racerone is correct. An electrical component is heating up and misfiring. Again, please confirm, motor runs fine and then goes into that mode...

    If that isn't connected correctly or is stripped when you pump the primer ball has will spray out of that area. Easy to check.

    After re-reading, your motor runs fine and then goes into that mode correct? If that is true, it probably is electrical. Do you have a timing light?

    Seems like a good motor, just has some kind of gremlin. This may seem a stupid question but is your primer knob pushed in? Hard to tell from the video.

    Yeah, I saw those too. My bet it's the 9 1/4 by 6 1/2. It's the biggest diameter, smallest pitch and is unavailable. I've never seen one on a Evinrude. Yamaha t9 and stuff but not rudes.

    Racerone or whomever, Outboard...J8SRLEDS so 1996 extra long shaft. This is the prop on it. Can't find any info on them and can't read the size. Stock paint seem to have covered up the markings under the cone. Didn't really see anything on the parts breakdown either. Let me know. Thanks

    According to my chart 1975 is the earliest they made a 75 hp. They show a shock abs and spring for the 20 inch model but different part number than you list. 2 per unit. Should help going down not sure on the up. They do sell an aftermarket lever that you put on the engine cover to help lift it...

    1986 6 hp Johnson Gearcase Cover and Seal

    I assume you are installing gasket 324637 keeping the gearcase sealed on the top. No sealer should be required but I don't think it hurts either. Let's see what others say. As long as you have that part out did you replace the other seals?

    Starter Bolt Size

    All three should be the same. 1/2 bolts, not sure of the thread though. Looking at your motor with all the Allen heads and stuff maybe someone had to tap that out.
