    Correct the decals also said 110 HP for a few of the bubble years.----The V-4 blocks with big center main bearing were marketed as 85 / 90 / 100 / 115 / 140 HP.-----All used the same crankshaft / rods / pistons.

    The 115 HP V-4 would be called the " bubble back " , while the 90 HP had the plain exhaust.----I do not believe the V-4 looper ( 95 to 2005 ) was ever used for one of these jet boats.

    If starter is KAPOT and cranks slow there will be no spark.

    Maybe check for thermostat stuck open.----Oil is added to the gasoline to lubricate the internal parts.-----Oil burning off is the unfortunate thing that also occurs.----Smoke does NOT lubricate any parts.-----Why would you use cheap oil in a precision motor ?

    Sounds like an OMC V-4 model.-----Pictures of engine parts will identify it in just seconds.

    The one piston is scored.----Was it like that when you put it in?-----If water got on bearings you have to get this resolved ----ASAP---if not sooner.

    Check the carburetor bowls.-----If they have not been replaced they are likely warped.----Take note of jets should you need to replace them.----Torque on the screws is 10 inch lbs I believe.

    Parts book shows one prop.----Except high thrust for the long " sailboat " models.

    Run with a timing light see if you can find which cylinder is missing.
