    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I guess I was a little over zealous with my use of 5200. Mindset of "could it fail"??? "Maybe in a 1000 years... Ok 5200 the crap out of it and it will last 1001 years"!!!! :D SHSU

Did I miss what size boat she is? Nothing like a good glasser for a donar boat. SHSU

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

Very pretty!!!! Nothing like a shiny piece of aluminum. The bracket you showed, is that screwed in or through bottled? If just screwed, I would suggest through bolt with plenty of 5200. Just my 2 cents.... SHSU

2020 Starcraft Of The Year (SOTY) Nominations

Howdy Starmada, 2020 has been a very interesting year.... Hope every one is well and still above water (Sorry boat joke). That said, it is the time of year we get to acknowledge all the handwork that has been put in by the members. Please see below on this years SOTY 2020 rules and...

    1983 starcraft rebuild

LOL, I hear you on that. That was a requirement for me, had to be able to store it in our garage. Never understood paying for storage for a boat. SHSU

    1983 starcraft rebuild

Oh fun!!! Looks like a SS16. Fun little boat when you are all said and done. Flooring: Never thought about doing a removable floor. So much is secured on top of it that removing it to run some wires would be a lot more effort then it would be worth in my opinion. Plus that is what the...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

While not the same build, my gunnels really stiffened up when I installed the splashwell. So for you, I am wondering if the frame you talked about making for the dog house and such will help with that as well. SHSU

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

Can you lay most of the panel flush with rivets to an aluminum frame and cut out a section over the engine bay to create a removable cover? +1 @Watermann suggestion for removable cap Looking back I wish I had thought more about how I secured my corner caps. I was worried about losing them if...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

LOL, I think its a requirement that Friday shift does at least a couple rivets on every boat. The original rivets on ours didn't have the nice dimple, the replacements did. I think it was a difference between 1100F and 2117T4. I think the 2117T4 had the dimple, but not 100% sure. SHSU

Yep, I have one of those removal tools as well. They work great if you only have a couple to do. Trick for solid heads is to just a drill punch to give it a start. Just helps prevent that little bit of walking when it starts out. SHSU

    Starcraft patriot transducer question

It looks like we are all trying to understand what the bracket is for, we are so curious. If not a trim tab, a small step of some kind? Back to the original question, as long as you maintain the minimum from the prop, it shouldn't matter. At speed, you just need clean water to get depth...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Nothing like being able to use a boat and still do work on her. I wish I had the opportunity when we did ours. Nothing like being able to see the progress and use it too. We just saw progress but it seemed to drag at times. Excited to see your next steps on her refurb. SHSU

1982 Starcraft Center Console 18' Rebuild

Yep, we did. Not what I would recommend but admiral and I are pretty proud of it. So the point of the 5200 is to seal between the rivet head and hull, the hull overlapping, and the tail/hull. We used a normal caulking gun, cut the top to pin hole size and would shoot a dab for the inner and...
