    Yes they are. Yep unless you’re very familiar with Chevy small blocks… And don’t mind working with lousy engine access in sone cases… Stick with alu boats & outboards…this is from 20 years owning a ‘glass I/O boat…

    check all your hydraulic lines as well, the actuators can also leak but that would make a mess back by the transom mount.

    There were reports of the Hy Tek units burning through at the exhaust ports causing an exhaust leak. Try your OE style from Barr Marine if they make them. I have a set of Volvo style exhaust on mine they sealed perfect been on 5 years.

    I’ve used their gaskets on my Cobra (between the drive & transom mount). They worked fine. I used a carb kit for my Quadrajet that was sold by BRP/OMC as OE but made by Sierra! That worked fine too. However the carb kit I bought from Cliff’s high performance Quadrajets was definitely better...

    That and because there is no gasket between the drive & the pivot housing they can corrode together…coat with grease to prevent a re-currance. You should be pulling that drive yearly!
