    Ypu measure from the inside top edge of the hook on the transom clamp to the cavitation plate above the prop. That is where your measurement is. If it was a 20" shaft there would be an extension housing on it.

    You can find the parts to convert it. I would suggest the AOMCI.

    That is a shortshaft motor on a boat that needs a long shaft. Your motor is a 15" shaft and you need a 20".

    No the analyzer is used to time the engine!!! I have the exact same motor with the factory manual.

    how much weight do you think you would actually save? The Verado set up at 870#s doesn't include the extra bracing you need for an Outboard conversion. Not to mention the repairs an a small block Chevy will be significantly cheaper than the Verado. Not to mention the small block will be simpler...

    I am not so sure you can use the joe reeves timing method on that ignition. There is an actual timing tool for the optical ignition system.

    Which way is the red lever facing on the primer? You push the key in while starting. Doing it 8 seconds before does nothing.

    Depends on the size of the laminate. The square in the middle measure it.

    one other thing to ask the owner is the oil setting. That determines which oil to use. If I was buying it I would take it to a dealer and have them set the pump as rich as possible. then run the best oil you can find XD 100

    there is an oil tank on that motor that will need to be filled periodically. but you should read the manual
